Jennifer Balakrishnan is a mathematician who specializes in algorithmic number theory and arithmetic geometry. Her early interest in mathematics led her to compete in the 2001 色色视频 and 2002 STS, and she became the first-ever STS finalist from Guam. Balakrishnan went on to earn a doctoral degree in mathematics from MIT. She is known for her leading role in solving a Diophantine equation, coined the 鈥渃ursed curve.鈥 Balakrishnan鈥檚 pioneering contributions to computational number theory and arithmetic geometry have earned her honors including the NSF CAREER Award and a Sloan Research Fellowship.
